Life Changing 2014

"2014 will be awesome. 2014 will be interesting. 2014 will be life changing."

Those words are from my last year ender post.

Because I knew my life will change 180 degree. 

If you will ask me, how's my 2014? 

It was a ROLLER COASTER ride. 

There were ups, there were downs.

There were first times. There were unforgettable moments. 

- I was hospitalized. 

- I resigned in the first company I was hired that was great and gave me a lot of fun! 

- I left home, my family and loved ones in the Philippines.

- I went abroad all by myself, to Singapore then to Dubai.

- I experienced being interviewed for several times and it was nervewracking as I was exposed to different nationalities.

- I experienced the worst in my work, being pressured, being shouted, being pushed to the wall.

- I endured all the challenges, the pain and tears I cried.

- I went to different, unique destinations I will never forget.

- I attended a Vice Ganda concert in Dubai! 

- I was surprised for three times on my Birthday ❤️

- I was a bridesmaid for the first time at my Kuya's wedding! 

There were lots of moments and events happened this year (and those on the list is what I remembered). 

I learned a LOT. I matured a lot! 

The game is on. I am in a battlefield.

Next year, I have to be strong. 

Strong enough to endure all the challenges coming. 

My 2014 is all about taking the RISK.

There were times I felt I should not done this, that, 

But I kept holding on, that these experiences, good and bad, are all LEARNINGS.

I do not have regrets. 

I am proud that I have taken the risk.

"2014 will be awesome. 2014 will be interesting. 2014 will be life changing."

-- Guess this is true. 

Now, 2015 is coming. 

Lets get it on.

I am HOME this Christmas!

You read it right. I am currently home here in the Philippines!

How awesome is that! Sorry for being secretive haha! I don't want to release my "big" news online until I actually landed. 

I flew from Dubai to PH via Cebu Pacific flight last December 23 to celebrate the holidays with my family and to attend my big brother's wedding! Woohooo! 

I was fortunate enough to be approved by my boss to think the event was short noticed and I was just less than a year old to actually have a leave already!

God is so good to make all these things possible! :)

This holiday is the highlight of my 2014! 

(Wait for my year ender post why I concluded LOL) :D

Because this is the happiest I have been to! ❤️ 

So far,  I had Noche Buena, Christmas lunch date with my family, get together kantahan with my CoE girlfriends and family Christmas reunion in the house!

And most of all, my big brother's wedding! It is the first one in the family so it is really a HUGE event for us! Huge enough for me (from Dubai) and for our relatives from Australia to come home!

I am one of the bridesmaids! My first time to become one hihi! (I was Junior bridesmaid in the past)

Congrats and best wishes Bro & Ate Darl!

Weee! We have an addition in the family! Sana I will have a pamangkin soon hihi 😁

Then I had a massage and dinner date with Levs and our mentor, Dad Francis!

And just today, we attended our family reunion in Laguna :) (which I don't have enough photos hahaha)

It was super fun though, :)

Thank you Lord for all these events which I will never forget! I love my family!!!

OMG!!!! HAPPY 10 YEARS!!

OMG. 

I just realized that this blog is 10 YEARS OLD! 

I cannot believe it. I have been blogging for 10 years now. 

Imagine that? 

I was 15 years old when I started this one. 

When you browsed on my first posts, it was about failed love, love that was not given back.

Then it became about my high school and college life, my rants, experiences and opinions. I was talking in Tagalog that time. 

As I graduated, it became about my career life, this is also the time I had my lovelife haha! I had travels and dates!

Then now, living abroad is what I am sharing. 

HOW TIME FLIES!

I learned a lot because of blogging.

- I learned how to convey my ideas in English better.

- I discovered how I matured and how silly I was when I was younger. 

- I have this online space where I am proud and I am able to backtrack what happened to me.

OH MY GOSH.

My feelings are overflowing.

LDR Again

So Levi went to the Philippines to attend his sister's debut. 

And we welcome ourselves to a short Long distance relationship. 

This time, we switched places. 

He is in the Philippines while I am here in Dubai. 

And what I am feeling is like I am totally a OFW. Really away from home, from my family.

But then, I am getting used to this. 

I will be okay. I know I am stronger now in mind, heart and soul. :)

I have to. :)

How time flies!

It is now the end of the year. 

It is now DECEMBER. 

Traditionally, when this month comes, everyone is excited, especially back home. 

Deep inside, yes, I am excited.

And that makes me positive in the future. 

That I will be more than happy. 

This month will be colorful and unforgettable. 

Yes, this will be a highlight of my 2014.

Significant Days

They say it is better to focus on the good. 

Therefore, I will be sharing the significant days that happened to me. :)

❤️ We have a new family, a persian cat, Clyde! He is like a son to us! Haha with an attitude! Still, he is cute and a stress reliever!

❤️ Finally went to a park here in Dubai, the Creek Park! I miss a place like this with that feeling of Nature! That day is so much fun and one of the books!

❤️ Went to Abu Dhabi for the second time! I went with my colleague, Carla to attend Estidama Training! A must take opportunity!

❤️ Lately, I seldom go to malls except one day after work when Levs planned us to go to Mercato Mall! Wee the place was AWESOME! (Like Venice Piazza but times 5) :P We had a date @ Paul! Unforgettable!

❤️ For weeks, my siblings and I planned our Dad's Super Dad @ 60 birthday celebration! Thanks to FB and we exchanged ideas to make our Dad super happy! It was a success with fab small details and a special video I made! We love you, Dad!

Remembering those days makes me smile! :)

I think of myself as not very confident but the people around me say otherwise. My confidence breaks through when I needed it the most. 

With the "powerful", I remember when I was in college, they told I am that. Maybe because I can influence those people around me.

I agree that I am dignified and intelligent, maybe because I've matured enough and because of my parents' genes. :D

100% agree. I want the realistic way as it gives realistic results. I want the realness in everything, if it is possible to reach.

Sometimes, I have this tendency to be misundertood even if I meant well.

Awesomeness

They say, good things come to those who wait. 

For the previous month, I had some issues at work which made me overthink. 

I had bad times, but lately, I experience some good stuff. 

Unexpectedly, we went to Desert Safari! Woooohooo!

October 3

Since I went here, I seldom go to tourist spots. I only went to Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Park, had a photo at Burj Al Arab, went to malls such as Mall of Emirates and Dubai Mall to name a few. 

But then, this is in a different level. 

Why? Because.. 

- my first time to ride a Camel which is one on my bucket list!

- experience the sand dunes! It's like riding a roller coaster!

- enjoyed the belly dancing and i dont know the name entertainment hehe

- wore the abaya! 

It was really a unique experience. :)

October 9

Another awesome experience is of course my BIRTHDAY! 

I was hysterical to think that it is my first time to celebrate it without my family. But God made sure that it will be the same "happy birthday". 

I got four surprises:

1. Aside from him cooking spaghetti, Levs exerted effort to make me feel loved the moment I woke up. I had a brand new Aldo bag which I definitely need! 

2. Had a delicious Italian lunch date with my colleagues and they surprised me with a chocolate cake! Oh la la!

3. After work, I smelled a familiar perfume  and boom, there's Levs with a bouquet of flowers! I miss getting this and I was really surprised!

4. And when we are preparing food for the celebration, I had surprise visitors, my LOJ family with cakes! Oh I love it!

Thank you Honey for all these surprises! 

I feel so loved and special! ♡♡♡

Maybe I did something right to deserve all of these! 

Thank you everyone for the greetings, gifts and love! 

Thank You Lord for the gift of LIFE!

My favorite month of the year!

Aside from December, my most favorite month is October! Why? Because it's my birthday month! Wooohooo ❤️

So it started well. I accompanied my boss on one of his meetings with the client and it was a great experience, actually. To be with higher position people, I felt proud that I survived being with them. LOL! 

Then it is holiday here, all of us have a long weekend. No work upto Sunday. Hope it will be amazing! :) 

Then surprisingly, after nth time, Levi and I had a lavish date at Japengo Cafe, Mall of Emirates. Thanks Honey! :)

Next week will be unforgettable. Yipee! ❤️

Ber month means..

For Filipinos, when it is the start of "ber" months, it means HOLIDAY!

It means Christmas is near. Everyone is excited including me. :) 

This September, there are celebrations that happened.

1. My Honey's brother just came here from PH and I got a little surprise pasalubong from my loving family! 

I was touched! Thank youuuu! 

I cried the moment I read the super advanced birthday card from my Chu! I love you!!

2. Within the birthday card, there's another birthday gift from my Chu! It's a treat for myself! My first time to pamper in Dubai: I indulge myself with Mani/Pedi and Hairspa! 

3. Perfect now, my Honey and I celebrated our 7th anniversary with a Vice Ganda Concert. :)

Thank You Honey!! 

I also made a traditional anniversary video for him, 7 years means 7 lessons I learned from you! Hehe :) Cheesy! ❤️

4. My Mom celebrated her birthday this month. Happy Birthday Mom! 

I was touched when I received a voice message response from her. I literally teary eyed when listening from it. :)

Ofcourse, there's always a cake from me hihi!

5. Sama Summer Saya with my LOJ Dubai Family! So much fun and enjoyment! Thank you! 

It's my first time to be part of a Cheerdance! We won! Green Gilas are the champions! Woohoo! 💚

5 major events, 5 unforgettle memories. :) 

To think, we are still halfway for September.

Here in Dubai, it will be getting colder. 

They say, Winter is nearing and I can't wait. I'm excited because it will be my first time to really experience winter for a period time. Yipee! :)

Better Days

This is not right: updating my blog every month. 

This is not so me. But it's better to be late than never updating, agree? :) 

My life right now is a roller coaster ride. 

I went here for challenges and those are what I am receiving now. 

All I have to do is to be STRONG. 

But not all my days are challenging. There were fun moments, ofcourse. 

Sometimes, we went outside for dinner, just like that fiesta we had in Seafood in a bucket at Al Karama and Chili's!

We also went shopping once at the Outlet Mall and I can't resist great finds in affordable prices such as a pair of black shoes for only 25aed and a pair of Grendha sandals for 50aed!😍 Got also two tops hihi What I'm thinking is I deserve this! ❤️

Then my Tita celebrated her birthday and bought her a cake!

My Honey also never forgets to surpise me by giving me "Caramel"! He's the sweetest!

And every month, we celebrate our monthsary! This month, we dined at Shake Shack burger and watched "The Dawn of the planet of Apes". Thanks Honey!

We also went to Feast Dubai and I'm proud with the friendship my Honey established there as they gave him a "surprise" birthday dinner! I also gave him a cake! Hihi another surprise! 

Simultaneously, we went to a beach near Burj Al Arab where we took unforgettable photographs! 

I was kind of teary eyed when we went there because I always wanted to go there and had a picture! Yey! 

There were bad days but I have to focus more on the better days, the happy days! 

Thank You Lord! And I can't wait for more! ❤️ :)

Observation

It is true when we set our foot in a different land, we became different. 

Different, in such a way that we changed. 

Perhaps, I am speaking for myself. 

I have observed that I changed. 

Without a family on my side right now, I was less happy. I was less smiling. 

I talked but on the keypad. 

I chat, not speak. 

I speak but seldom. 

That's why I am thankful for technology that I am able to communicate with my family. 

This is how to be far away from home. 

Hopefully, I won't lose myself. 

I want to go back being me. 

New destinations..

It's been a while since I shared the specific events that happened on my life. 

Being away with my family, I seldom go out. Maybe because I have few friends here.

If you'll ask me the new places I've been to here in Dubai, they're mostly malls or supermarkets. Haha so funny! 

I've been to Zabeel park to attend an "Amazing Grace" event with my LoJ Dubai family. 

I've been in hotels to attend Feast Dubai. 

I've been in Malls and got to watch 3D movies here.

I've been in a "city" full of gold! I was blown away! 

I've been to St. Mary's Church to attend Mass. 

I've been in an open beach to attend a bonding. 

I've been in Abu Dhabi and stayed there in few hours at a mall.

I've been in Muscat Airport (Oman) for my exit and stayed there for less than 20 min. 

I've been in Jumeirah Beach hotel to attend a technical training. 

I've been in different restaurants for dates and a Caring group gathering.

Mostly the "visits" I had are my interviews in my first months. 

Right now, I've been in outlets and stores. 

There's a lot of temptations but I have a goal to save and invest that's why I have to control and focus on that. 

I've been thankful with all the challenges that I am experiencing. Actually, I felt I am a better version of myself in few months that I've been here. 

Really, life begins outside our comfort zone.

I can't wait to go to another new places and soar higher. :)

Lets do this! 

Make it

I came here not for fun, not "solely" to be with my Love.. But for excitement.

My life in the Philippines was a bliss. 

It was almost perfect, actually. 

♡ I have a career in a large and global corporation. 

♡ I have my friends and we will meet every now and then. 

♡ I have my loving and supportive family who I am excited to see and interact after a long day. 

I have a steady life. I even travel around the Philippines and two Asian countries.

But one decision made my life upside down. 

I want challenge. I want growth. I want change. 

I got bored that's why I want excitement. 

And now I am getting it. One by one, my life changes. 

I went here in Dubai. 

I spent my savings. I spent my time and effort to find a work.

Fortunately, I got what I'm looking for.

Challenges. Changes. 

But it seems that it doesn't feel right.

I don't want to lose myself. I have to be strong. I have to survive.

I don't want to fail. 

I want to win. 

I will make it. 

God will never give us challenges we cannot handle.

I have to focus on the positive sides. 

I can do this! 

When Enough is Enough

I've been waiting for this:
The time when I don't have to worry about my stay here in Dubai.
The time when I have work.

With God's grace, I am now employed with my first job here in a foreign soil.
The long wait is over. And this is just the beginning of a new adventure.

Thankfully, my work is still related to IT, there's still 5% Unix. :D
My boss always challenges us which makes me tremble but inspired to do my job properly.
Honestly, I am not 100% happy but I am still grateful that the "storm" I had in the past few weeks ended.

Another one is coming. And that makes my life exciting. :)

Everything will be alright.
Everything will be just fine.

HOPE

The one I'm holding for recently is HOPE.

Hope that everything happens for a reason.

Hope that at the end of the day, all is well.

Hope that after this storm, it will be rainbow.

The big verdict will be on for 2 days.

May the odds be in my favor.

I just have to be positive. :)

Mixed Emotions

Three weeks have passed. 

I've been visiting new places, eating new cuisines (the shawarma and egg paratha are the bomb haha), having interviews and taking a lot of photographs. 

Honestly, I'm not 100% happy. 

Because something's missing. 

Work. 

Haha. God is testing me to be patient. 

(I have this hatred in waiting for so long)

This experience really taught me a lot. 

Humility, Patience, Hardwork and Faith.

More than the places, the foods, the people, the photographs, the learnings I had are the things that truly matter. 

Now, there is an opportunity. 

It may not be the best, the one that I've been looking for.. But it was fine enough.

Hopefully, it is the right one. 

I will do my best. I will do what I can do. 

I don't know everything but I know God is with me. He will take care of me, He will guide me. He will never abandon me.

I know that more challenges are coming. 

It will be indeed an exciting year. :)

No, a life changing year. 

Courage Zone

I officially welcome myself in a courage zone.
(Courage zone is outside the comfort zone.)

And they say, our lives begin outside our comfort zones.
So a new life.. a new adventure is now beginning for me.

It all started when I decided to just go for it.. take a risk.. :)
So that I won't regret.

I left home, my company, shield out my wallet.. maybe you're asking if it's worth it?
I say YES! Just few days had passed and I can proudly say it is!
Of course, I am nervous yet very excited but I know the learnings that I will get are PRICELESS and a PROUD moment!




I went to Singapore on my own.. strolled around, took a picture, met a friend, ate their delicacies and went to Church.

I stayed on my own in a beautiful Adler Hostel. A lot of firsts happened and I'm proud of it. The feeling is it's like I can conquer the world! HAHAHA!

Then on the next morning, I went straight to the airport for my flight to Kuala Lumpur.

Yay! Tried their noodle dish on Kuala Lumpur Airport, and I must say it's delicious! hehehe :)

Then after 3 hours, I went to my flight to my real destination: DUBAI! 

Yay! After 7 hour flight and a long line on the Passport control, here I am!

Levi and I are together again! We survived a 1 year long distance relationship and we are finally together.

Then I checked in on my Foursquare and observed that I've been in 3 international airports in a day! I love it! :))

Month of Changes

April, for some, is the month of Summer. 

It is the month when relaxing happens. 

And as for me, it is not. 

It is completely different. 

I just celebrated my 3rd year at work. 

I just sent my last email. 

I just pressure myself now. 

I am now in the part of my life that there are so much changes going on. 

And I need to sustain it. I have to be strong. 

Oh God, please guide me with all my decisions. 

I just have to try. I just have to go for it. 

It's my life, anyway. 

It is now or never. 

I can do this! I have to believe in myself. 

I have to be positive. 

God bless me. 

Emergency

Meet SNOOZY.

He's been serving me for twice now by keeping my savings safely. :)

I love to save! 

Wayback, I only save 5 & 10 peso coins, now, it's now leveled up! Sometimes, I save 20 & 100 peso money. :) 

Even if this time, Snoozy is not really that full, I opened it since I need it now. 

As they say, "kapag may isinuksok, may madudukot" and I believe in that. :) 

I am proud of myself for doing this for the past years. I also guest blogged on my sister (www.styleyourfinance.com) regarding rip "LECHIE". :)

You know what they say, when the times comes, the present you will thank the past you and that happened now. :)

The Start

In the past few days, I have been doing life changing decisions. 

Seriously. 

Right now, I am nervous yet proud. 

I am sad yet fulfilled. 

I know everything will be alright. 

And just for 2 hours, two of my closest people will leave me behind and that really strikes me. 

Well, that also is the start of the change. 

It is nervewracking yet very exciting. 

I wish them well. 

I wish everyone well.

Too risky

Some things are bugging my mind right now.
I am both excited and nervous.

I know I may lose some, but I hope I will gain more.

I just have to believe.
I just have to hope and pray.

One of my favorite days

It was my rest day and I have many plans for the day. 

And I am so proud I was able to accomplished a lot! 

☑️ Told my Mom what I REALLY wanted to say!

☑️ Went to my Alma Mater for some errands and ate my favorite Grilled Porkchop! It is still delicious as ever and the price didn't change!

☑️Also ate Sweet corn and I reminisced a lot during my stay at PLM :)

☑️Hoard some clothes!! Girls are girls, after all!

☑️Got home and my Mom bought us Jobee Spag! So yummy!

I may be tired but what I did is fulfilling!

A Valentine like no other

Love is everywhere, anywhere in the world.

But this month is extra special since it is LOVE month as we are celebrating Valentine's day! :)

Last 2 years, I celebrated it with my family and ofcourse, this year's not different! ;)

We had a very early Valentine dinner last February 9 @ Pino Resto bar! OMG we waited for 2 hours to be served but the food are yum and very tasty I must say! 

Then come February 13 when my Honey received a call that he has a delivery at home! Hahaha! So he now knew I had a Valentine gift for him. Here it is:

So cute! Haha he didn't expect it (that's what he said) hihi! Yey! I gave him a fruits basket and a cute little bear as I knew he loves fruits and so that Kyuubi will have a friend!❤️

And after my night shift, I went home on a Valentine's day, went to my room and got a surprise! Wow!! 

I was so happy with my new earpods because I will be able to hear my Honey very clearly now! And I was so teary eyed with the Frozen movie copy he gave me as I really wanted to watch it BADLY (yes I'm sooo late!)!! 

There's more! I have a red rose and a card handwritten by him! 

Thank you Honey for the EFFORT!

Admitted

I love to read Chinese horoscopes and what really stood out is my health.

I have to be keen and be careful with my health.

And what happened this January? 

I got sick twice and the second one I had dengue. Oh no!

I was admitted in the hospital for 3 1/2 days. 

It's hard to be sick. There's pain, hurt and sadness. I have events that I didn't attend to. :( 

Thankfully my officemates gave me fruits basket and my HS barkada surprised me a visit!

I am blessed to have a caring family who's all there supporting me! I love you all!!!! 

Thank you Lord I am now okay. 

Lets be healthy! :)

WELCOME 2014!

Woohoo! It's a brand new year and the odds are in my favor!!
You see, I have work until 12am but luck has come my way and I was able to go home early to celebrate the New Year with my family! :)

It was FUN, really! We have our torotot and it was loud! 

We have our Media Noche, fireworks outside our home, picture taking for the memories and laughter!

Then as the year changed, we jumped, I think, for a minute! HAHA! It was so tiring but very fun! :)
